A Statement of Purpose

As I venture to begin this adventure, - if I can call it that - I thought that it would be good to start with stating my purpose of this blog.

I called this blog Reformation for the Home, and, as many in the reformed world know, reformation is a continuous battle. You are always seeking reformation and how to further it. And, especially in today's world, that requires a lot of studying and learning. And so that is the first thing I want this blog to be, a place to learn. A place to share what I've studied and learned through Scripture and other books on Scripture about being a Christian wife, mom, and sister to other fellow believers.

I also want this blog to be an encouragement. We are all on this crazy train called life, and as young parent, I know that like many, I'm pretty much making this up as I go. And I find it incredibly helpful and encouraging when someone can say what I'm thinking but from their own experience, and I hope to offer the same.
That every post can say, "You're not alone."

Finally, I want this blog to be practical. Something applied to everyday life. My husband loves the Puritans, and speaks "puritanese" fluently, but I often struggle with seeing the practical application of some of things that he talks and shares with me.
But it is there. Especially in the Puritans, it is an incredibly practical living theology they write about.
And I believe that practical, lived-out theology begins in the Home.

So, welcome to this journey of how we have, strive to, and hope to reform our home to be one that is built on the rock of Christ, informed by His Word, and
seeks to bring glory and honor to Him.
